Banana Republic recently launched its new collection of nude basics known as True Hues, and we are excited because the nude hues aren’t just various shades of beige! The collection includes a wide range of skin tone-colored undergarments including panties, bras and camisoles as well as socks and bodysuits. There are also several skin-colored heels that will pair well with just about anything in your wardrobe.
The collection’s pieces are available in eighth colors and, thus, will definitely match a wide range of skin tones. The hues include Sonoran Beige, Chestnut Brown, Coffee Brown, Black, and Ivory, among others. The brand says that these available colors are in keeping with its “platform of supporting equality and as a way to live out Gap Inc.’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity as a whole.”
Gap Inc. is the parent organization of Banana Republic since 1983.
The capsule collection Casabella underwear including panties with different styles, such as boy shorts, lace thongs, low-rider thongs. The bra selection includes T-shirt bras, underwire bras, and bandeau bras in shades of tan and black, among others.
The bodysuits and camisoles area available in colors ranging from white to black, as well as nude shades like Biscotti and Sonoran Beige. These are available in process ranging from $22.50 to $34.50 each.
More women are wearing nude underwear, and part of the reason is the increased preference for it among celebrities. Eva Mendes, for example, revealed that she feels sexiest in very basic underwear or in nude underwear. Katy Perry also once posed for the Rolling Stone magazine with just a pair of simple bra and panties above lace underwear.
Apparently, nude underwear indicates a natural, easy-going and down-to-earth personality. Women who like wearing them are also said to be more relaxed and more open with nothing to hide.
But the stars of the True Hues collection are the shoes with modern strap detailing. These are available in two styles – the Bare High Heel Sandal and the Madison 12-hour Pump – and in five shades. The shades Espresso Brown, Chestnut Brown Suede, Biscotti Suede, Deep Brown Suede, and Sonoran Beige Suede.
The sizes range from 5 to 12 while the prizes range from $89 to $118.
In an Instagram photo introducing the True Hues shoe collection, the brand captioned it, “Inclusion is such a beautiful thing.” The shoes are definitely beautiful in their simplicity, elegant in their lines, and comfortable in their design.
The Bare High Heels sandals have a 3.3-inch heels that make them suitable for wearing with jeans, skirts and gowns of nearly every length. The sleek sandals have two straps – one each near the forefoot and the midfoot – and a buckled ankle strap. These are made with comfort in mind, too, with their breathable synthetic lining, padding system with cushioned insole and memory foam, and skid-resistant outsole.
The Madison 12-hour Pumps feature a rounded topline to accentuate the delicate beauty of your toe cleavage. These are also designed with added arch support, comfort pods at the sole, and breathable synthetic lining for optimum comfort even when worn for 12 hours straight.
These pumps have a 3.3-inch heels, too. The injected insoles ensure optimum heel stability while the luxurious leather or suede material complements its elegant design.
The sandals and pumps are available in suede and leather depending on the specific color. These are also available in non-nude colors like pink, green, and red for a wider range of choices for women who love their shoes.
Nude heels are a favorite among celebrities, career women, and housewives, among others, because these pair well with virtually anything in their wardrobe. The trick, however, is in finding the right shade for your skin tone – and it’s a struggle that most men will not understand. After all, Espresso Brown is just another brown, isn’t it?
The nude shoe trend has been around for years, of course, and it’s a trend that will likely not fade away anytime soon. Due to their apparent blending into the skin, these add to the illusion of slimmer ankles and feet, as well as longer legs.
Think about it: With white, black or colored shoes, the legs seemed to be cut off at the feet resulting in a less statuesque appearance. With nude shoes, especially when these almost perfectly match your skin tone, your legs seem to go on for miles!
Nude shoes and sandals are also great for pairing with printed pants, skirts and dresses since these aren’t as obvious. The focus then remains on the clothes, not the shoes, without making the wearer feel naked, so to speak.
The nude trend is in sharp contrast with the neon trend that we are seeing on the runways, too. On many Spring 2019 runway shows, the nude look has been highlighted by the likes of Burberry, JW Anderson, Dior, and Acne Studios. From dresses and coats to accessories, the head-to-toe nude and beige looks are classy, minimalistic, and timeless.
